what does this msg mean: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:wakeApplet.class

I received it while opening up a window that required java.

oh...and for some reason...i'm not able to play games on yahoo using IE anymore. somehow...the java isn't running.

help please??

Has it worked on the machine before or did it just happen out of the blue? I'm guessing that maybe somehow you turned off java in internet explorer. Try opening Internet Explorer, click on tools up above, then go to internet options. Click on the advanced tab and find the checkbox about enabling/disabling java and make sure its turned on.

If not, maybe java hasn't been installed on your computer yet, check this thread on where to download it:

nah it happened outta the blue. and yea i did enabled all the java stuff. i dl the java applet. now the problem is that when i have a window that requires the java applet...and if i wanted to chat, my IM window (among other things) will blink/flash like krazy!!! why does that happen and how do i get rid of it? oh yea..how do i get rid of that lil java icon (coffee cup) in my task bar? no right click allowed....its annoying!!!

AHHH!!!!!!!

now java doesnt even work. says i needa dl java virtual machine. window pops up and starts dl, but then i get the msg:

The MS Virtual Machine you are attempting to install is a protected system component and can only be updated with a later release of the operating system or service pack.

I went to windows update and nothing!!!

eh!!

now any page i go to that requires java...it pops up a download box for "java virtual machine." it starts downloading and stuff, and then ask if i want to install MS virtual machine. CLicked yes and this box appears:

URGHH!!

So supposedly...I'm suppose to go to MS update to get that, but there are no updates for me!!! I went to www.sun.com too....and honestly...I have no clue wut I should be downloading.

Anyone wanna give this (very frustrated) girl a hand? Please???

* BTW...I downloaded "Java 2 Platform" from Sun. No help.

urgh!

i DID HAVE THAT PRGM!! it just didn't work for some reason. reinstalled it and now it works. xept i'm still confused as to why my IM windows would flash if i have a page that requires java on it? anyone willing to explain? there's others stuff that flashes too. i have a prgm called 'coolmon' that flashes! annoying.


p.s. thnx for all the help u have all given me so far though.
