I went to local Staples to buy Voodoo 2000 PCI today.
I did pricematch for the card.(They have it for $99.99 and west-tech has if for $60)
They were very nice about pricematch but charged me $5 for shipping&handling.
My final price ends up at $70 and I'll get another $30 mail-in rebate.
However, when I tell them to use coupon code($25 off $50), they told me it is for on-line use only.
I saw someone posted on the forum few days ago that the coupon can be used at local Staples also.
Anybody know their policy?

wein, I'm pretty sure you can't use coupon codes at b&m stores. I did however hear about some stores taking them, but there are only a handful out there that will take them.

why did you get charged for shipping and handling at a B&M store?? After all you're providing the handling as well as the shipping...not them.

I dunno why they charge me $5 for shipping & handling. -.-

they dont charge you for shippign and handling, they are just roughly MATCHING the price of the internet item if you had ordered it with its shipping cost...actually, they are supposed to add the websites actual NEXT DAY shipping cost (since that is what staples offers), so that could be $10-20, but if they cant find that exact cost, they use the $5 figure (which is not bad)

Yeah the $5 is evening up the playing field for them, I have seen some pricematches I almost feel guilty about using, when I figured in the shipping I said screw it.

yeah, and you know what west's Next day shipping is...$42+, i tried to call in a pricematch but the csr i got knew what she was doing...
that's still bs in my book cuz later i checked on staple's site, it says 3-5 day shipping, WTF?
can they match next day s/h when the item says 3-5 days??
anyone know the exact policy on this?

Shipping charges is a very good question! It could be one of those gray areas.
However, Staples policy is (online) FREE nextday S&H over $50. If the item is special order, or BO, it wont be next day, but will still be free.
Staples (or any retailer)offers pricematch to get you to buy from them rather than a competitor. Is it fair to change the free S&H terms.
Try this; You see an ad for a printer at store "X", it's $200, on sale for $140. "X" charges $20 S&H. Staples has the same printer in stock for $150. You ask for a pricematch. Do they give you Staples FREE S&H, or add the $20 that store "X" would charge? That would be $10 more than Staples regular price.
Staples wants you to shop with them because they offer a better deal. If thay screw you, you wont be back.
I think they should honor the free S&H.
