i don't know how many of you out there are Godard fans, but i saw his latest film last night, and i have to say it left me utterly confused.

of course, part of this is due to the fact that i was thoroughly exhausted and fell asleep about 10 minutes into it for god knows how long (probably about 15 minutes, which can be an eternity in a film).

nevertheless, Godard did some interesting things with the themes of memory and history, and the b/w cinematography, when paired with the super saturated color shots (intentionally so, i believe), was really beautiful.

i watched it with a friend, so we got to talk about it a bit. but i think i need to see it again to fully appreciate it. some critics loved it, others just hated it. if you ask me, you just need to have a bit of an open mind to enjoy this film, and being familiar with Godard's work wouldn't hurt either.
