I have an athlon xp 2500+ ... aren't you glad you know that?
I heard something about you having to earn "credits" to download? What's with that?
theres a rating system where everytime you share u get points but u can still dl anything from anyone. the only thing points really do for you is when u want a file it puts u higher on the list then someone with less points than you. good system if u ask me. cause all those people that dont share their files and stuff then expect to not have to wait to dl stuff...

Does Kazaa lite try to install all the crap ad/spy ware stuff like gator software? Is it truly "lite"?
Cheers,

i have yet to update...but kazaa lite still pops up ads for me. wuts up with that?
heh.. i've read up on the 2.0 version.. the "rating system" and stuff like that kinda erks me.. someone did bring up a good point.. if the RIAA can obtain that information, it may be able to be used against you.. as an indication of how much you participate in the sharing ofstuff..
and the rating changes all the time.. when reading up on one of those kazaalite forums, there was talk of maybe a way to cheat that system?Anyhoo, the amount varies alot. Its all based on how much up/down you are doing at that moment. You logoff and log back on, your rating level will increase/decrease. And as for all this rating system stuff, I think thats why less and less of my downloads have been going through.

:/ I think i'll stick with good ol' 1.7 . I don't see a real good reason of upgrading, especially since they've implemented that rating system.
Anyone wanna make kazaalitelite?
but the thing is.. even if you stay with 1.7, I think the ranking system is still implemented on you.. only difference is that you don't see it on your screen.Originally posted by sho.gun

So, old Kazzalite works with 2.0 clients, right?
Do those w/o 2.0 clients get the lowest priority? It's a great way to make ppl upgrade...sucks...but cunning.

the old KazaaLite still works.. but I don't know whether or not its only the 2.0 version people that get the lowest priority or is it across the board that has the rating system (which is most likely).Originally posted by Bires

Weird.
I dl it yesterday morning. I start with a base rating of 100. By after work, I was a guru. 200+. Overnight, I dropped to medium (54). Lots of ppl downloaded from me overnight. Why the drop? I did stop it and restart it yesterday evening.
Most ppl have a rating of 0. This is probably what happens if you stick with 1.7

I just tried the new 2.0.. OH MAN DOES IT LAG! I can't navigate through it at all.. ugh!
and well, for those of you who wish to boost your ratings, theres a "cheater" util that you can use at www.k-lite.tk .. haven't tried it yet, since i can't even navigate through this damn thing!
edit: just moved around about 1400 temp kazaa downloader files, and the lag seemed to lighten up a bit.. it never lagged this way with previous versions.. *grunt*

I always like the saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Only thing that pisses me off is the lamers on kazaa that change the titles on stuff. I still prefer mirc over any of these p2p clients still. Although I'm digging limewire for mp3s.
