so i heard this band in my friend's truck yesterday, and i liked the way their guitars sounded, so i borrowed it from him.

never heard of them before, but apparently it's actor jared leto's band. he sings and plays lead guitar, and his brother's on the drums.

anyway, altho the music across the tracks is fairly consistent, they're kinda interesting, cuz at times they'll sound like an 80's metal band, and at others they even sound sorta like tool. leto's brother also incorporates a lot of digital drumming (i thought it was a dj supplying extra background music, like incubus or linkin park, but my friend told me it's all the drummer), so that adds a little bit to it too.

anyway, i think these guys could be big commercially, cuz leto also sings surprisingly well. i think they're worth a listen... plus, they're cd's only $10 (less if you get it on sale or online).

Ya 30STM is a pretty cool band. I've been listening to them for a while now. I really like a few of the songs. Leto is a good singer. Some people are turned off by the fact that it's an actor's band or that it's a big electronic sounding but it's good stuff. I especially like the drums in Fallen and I like the song Echelon a lot too.
