What is your favorite TV show?

What is your favorite TV show and why? If you could give me more of a detailed response, that would be great. I've asked a lot of my friends and they can't give me more than 2 sentence answers.

Your response was too vague. How am I supposed to write 2 pages on the one sentence that you gave me? Also, if you could also include your age, that would be great.

    My age: 22

    Smallville
First thing that drew my attention to the show was Kristin Kreuk. And I'm sure I'm not the only one, ahem Leon! The show is addicting. Many of us have seen or at least heard about the Superman comic books, and movies. But to see him in his early years, still tinkling in his powers, eh, its cool. It has a bit of action, drama, romance. The show has various different characters and personalities, that many people should find someone to relate to.

    Examples:
two people who have feelings for each other but can't say.
someone who has a secret that wants to share with friends, but can't.
    someone who's a lil different.

    is that good 'nuf?

That's great. Thanks for the reply. Damn Kristen Kreuk and her cuteness.

I agree with Nuts about Smallville, but it isn't my favorite show.

I watch so many that it is hard to choose.

I think if I HAD to pick 1 to watch, it would be Alias.

Besides my attraction to Michael Vartan, I think it's because it has everything from sexual attraction to incredible intense drama. You feel SO bad for Sydney because she has this major secret she can't tell anyone, or they will be killed. She is dealing with her mother's betrayal (& soon to be her father's), a secret 2nd life, and the loss of her fiance, which she feels responsible for. She has to pretend to be loyal to a ****face of a man or be killed (a man who killed his terminally ill wife, who had just found out she was in remission from cancer, just so he would be named head of the organization). The show ALWAYS ends on an intense cliffhanger. Every show is like that. Not just every so often. It's fantastic.

Favorite Show: I don't have one. I watch TV rarely, and when I do, it's more as a distraction than to watch a particular show, so I tend to watch whatever is on. The programming I watch most frequently is sports coverage, usually the NFL, the NBA, or NCAA basketball.

I watch little TV because there are many other ways that I prefer to spend my free time: surfing the internet for news and entertainment, reading magazines like Rolling Stone and Sports Illustrated, listening to music, playing music, playing sports, and hanging out with my friends. In addition, I find most TV shows to be rather poor quality, so if I'm going to be sitting in front of the TV, I prefer to watch a movie that I know is going to be a solid entertainment value. As an added benefit, by watching so little TV, I avoid the mind-numbing repetition of stupid commercials.

Ok, now how's that for a contrarian response? you should be able to spend AT LEAST half a page talking about the reasons why people don't watch TV, making them a harder-to-reach market niche.

well, we ARE talking about television here... i'm wondering how many people consciously think about why their favorite show is their favorite show, to a greater extent than 2 sentences... i figure most people plop down on the couch and zone out to their "favorite" shows. then again i could be wrong...

i'ma think about this one for a bit, since i don't watch much tv, then i'll give you my answer brain...

my favorite tv show is sportscenter, altho i haven't had espn for a very long time.

why? well, i don't know if i can offer more than two sentences, but this is as honest as i can get:

i like sports, and i like seeing the highlights (mostly from the basketball games). in addition, the anchors make the show entertaining.

    um...

as far as regular television shows, i don't watch any of them regularly enough to call any of them my favorite.

maybe the simpsons? i think the show's writing is (was) extremely clever, and since it's a cartoon, they can get away with a lot more than a live show could. it's the only show i can think of that i used to watch back in the day, and which i now still watch.

All time...a tie between New York Undercover and Martin. Other memorable shows...Fame, I love Lucy, Thirtysomething, Ned and Stacy, In Living Color, What's Happening...wow, I could really go on.

But right now I really like Everybody Loves Raymond, Gilmore Girls, Friends, Girlfriends and 7th Heaven, Soul Food and Resurrection Blvd (tho aint been watching those cause I don't have cable no more).

Df, always bringing up the Sanford and Son before I get a chance to.
This is one thing DF and I completely agree on. This show could have gone 10+years intead of the 2 it went.

S&S was a social commentary on hard working people during a time when things were changing yet staying the same. Classic lines like when Redd said to Mr. Miyagi that he had "yellow jaundis(sp)" and than "Ping Pong," as Mr. Sanford affectionately called him, said, "what you got the black plague?" Ha ha ha haa ha haaa ha ha! ROTFLMAO! Oh my! Amazing cast of characters including the disaproving sister in-law Aunt Ester. She would give him the look .... It was a show that poked fun at racial stereotypes and was one of the only shows that showed people of all colors and backgrounds.

Than theres Seinfeld. Still funny. One of the best cast of characters ever.

    The Simpsons. Dooooh! Nuff said.

Married with children. Shouldnt but I did watch and laugh a lot.

    The three stooges.

SNL sometimes it good sometimes its not but if its on i watch.

Wait just noticed Lg had Ned and Stacy. Was that the show where they pretend they're married so that she can stay at his sweet apartment in NY. Shes that redhead and he talks the best smack. That show was great, was mad when it got cancelled.
Livin colour too, best comedy show ever and always room for a little J-lo.

Yup, I didn't miss A SHOW...it was sooo funny!!! I taped a few episodes but I don't think I have the tape anymore. I wish they would play the reruns somewhere but I doubt there are enough to have a series of them.
