ATI MMC: Recording scheduler
So I set my PC up to record at 5PM, to record the World Series. Set for 5 hours, VCD quality. I give it a test run on some other TV show, works fine. I leave the house, and come back, theres an error! My brother says he receives the same error. I don't remember what the exact message says, but simply put, my computer didn't record the World Series! Anyone else have these issues, and know how to solve 'em?
I already have all of the most recent drivers/updates for ATI MMC and my Radeon 8500.

dont have any problems with that currently. im sure i have in the past though. the only things that i can think of are:
- you dont have ati scheduler running or you dont have it starting up automatically
- you have somthing using the same resources that ati mmc needs to record, maybe a 3d screensaver or something
what i do is i just leave the tv program running so that i wont run into any problems. if you can get it to replay that message i might be able to help you more
[added] there might be a problem if you are trying to record to a FAT drive and the file size is bigger than 4gb. if that is the case it should just stop at 4gb. what you can do to go around that is to make a custom profile which limits the file size to what ever you specify. i set mine to cd size so if i want, i can burn to a disc. just copy the vcd profile and go through all the options till you get to the size option

Scheduler was running
And yeah, I guess I shoulda just left the program running.. I would set it to make the file only CD size or something, but its hard, when I'm not sure what the full length of the game is. I just set it to 5 hrs of recording. Bah, I guess I'll try again with the next game. Thanks!

if you set it to cd size it will just make multiple files. it will come out filename.mpg, filename-001.mpg, filename-002.mpg and so on. you will lose a few frames during the transition, but other than that, it works nicely
