Probably will work but I'd get quality ram. There is some cheap low grade stuff out there.

Hey in case you havn't bought the Corsair yet...check out newegg.com, they have great prices on memory plus usually free FedEx shipping. I bought some Corsair from them twice.

I've bought a lot of memory from crucial.com, with no problems at all until this summer. My computer would sometimes start in its overclocked settings, sometimes it wouldn't. Because the memory is crucial (PC2100) I would have never suspected it. Last Sept, I overvolted the memory, and it's been stable and consistant ever since.

Still the best memory for the price, though.

If your not ocing, you dont need really need high end ram.
Does the dell bios allow for ram tweaks or is it set?
I would get the lowest priced name brand ram if its not going to be tweaked. Crucial may be a good choice if the price is a lot lower.

btw: corsair is great stuff no problems with mine.

Actually you don't even need PC2700 memory since your P4 is running @ 133Mhz (PC2100 memory). Dell motherboard doesn't allow any kind of tweaking whatsoever. I don't think Dell gives you fast PC2700 memory and it's a waste to couple that with any kind of fast memory since your system will be run @ the slower RAM.

Actually that system comes with Intels latest chipset, the 845PE, which supports PC2700 memory.

But I don't think the motherboard has any option to up the FSB pass 133Mhz, which the CPU uses!

Thats the FSB. The memory is at a different setting.

Does using faster memory make a difference? Yep.

I'd get PC2700 memory, otherwise you'll clock back the PC2700 memory you have and system performance will drop some.
