    MadOnion 3DMark 2001 SE Score

    Hey everyone..

    Just upgraded my system to
    Gigabyte GA-7VAXP (VIA KT400/8235 Chipset)
    AMD xp2000+ (148 FSB @1850mhz)
    768 megs pc2100
    VisionTek Xtasy ti4600 (oc'd to 325/715)

but my 3DMark score was a mere 8900...

Now in the details of my profile on Madonion, it stated that my AGP was N/A /1x/2x but my board is compatable up to 8x.. and I found no where in the bios for auto AGP or 1x/2x/4x/8x nothing..

Anyone have any experiences with this?? or something I can do? and is that a normal score, or shouldn't it be in the 10,000's?? I have the 40.72 WHQL Detonator drivers, the new VIA 4in1 drivers..

    Any help would be appreciated..

Your score should be in 10K somewhere! With my system (listed below) @ stock setting, I hit 84xx on 3DMark2K1SE. Check your Vsyn, AA, & AF and make sure that they are off.
    Dell Dimension 9200 | Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4GHz) | 4x1GB DDR2 | 256MB nVidia GeForce 8800GT

    Dell Studio 17 | Intel Core i7-720QM (1.6GHz) | 6GB DDR3 1066MHz | 1GHz ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650

    Intel P4-C 3.0GHz | ECS 865PE-A | 3x512MB PC3200 | 128MB PNY GeForce 6600GT

That's definitely low. My 8500LE w/ 64MB gets 8850 with no overclock but FSB. I'd agree that you should see at least 10k.

The Detonator drivers are the newest ones from Nvidia's site.. The 4in1 drivers came from my motherboard's website (Gigabyte).. I know my Vsync is off.. and so is my anti-aliasing (though shouldn't I be getting high scores even with all this on!?!?).. I can't recall what AF is.. but I'll look for it..

I've always had bad luck with my scores.. They have always seemed lower than what they should be..

My score is only 2000 higher than my highest score with my 1.2 t-bird and geforce 3.. and even that seemed WAY low

BAH.. i guess I didn't get the latest 4in1 drivers and there is on here with agp 8x support (even though my card is 4x..) But, it's still better to KNOW what you are getting than having a big fat N/A in the AGP status ..

Other than that, I recommend this motherboard.. has software overclocking (no more messing with processors and dip switches or jumpers) Just use the program and up it until it freezes, then reboot go to one setting lower than you had, run at full load, see if it freezes.. if not.. save and everytime you boot into windows it overclocks for you.. Much easier on the wallet.. heh..

(of course, nothing beats opening up your computer knowing the danger ahead..)

WooHoo!!! 11470 finally broke the 10,000 with some to spare.. A little video card overclocking and the Windows XP 40.72 drivers, instead of the XP2k drivers..

    Now i'm content..

now.. awaiting the new line of geforce cards.. =0)
