It would be analog (RCA) source.
Which graphics processor chip would be preferrable? geForce? ATI?
Speaking of chips.....

Oh well its not the graphics card, its the capture card. Pinnacle systems makes a nice one, matrox also has a winner and canopus also makes a good one. But here's the thing, what is your budget? For cheaper capturing get a ATI AIW card. But if you're willing to spend more for better quality, get a dedicated card, but they run pretty pricey $500 and up they go go go.
Dazzle makes a nice capturing device. If you have a firewire card already, you can use this device to capture analog and digital with one device. There are also a bunch of other things you can do, like transfer analog to digital, digi to analog(not sure why you would want to do that but oh well you can do it) just to name a few.
I bought mines for like $200. Works great with Premiere 6.5.

Don't forget about drive speed! Get yourself a nice 10 or 15k SCSI or firewire HD to speed things up. There's a ton of data being written to disk, and that can become a serious bottleneck.Originally posted by Dave_7
