    nfarzan, i like those pics.

the top one and the third one are especially nice -- the lighting is very nice in both of them

(pagemap, i didn't look at yours because i'm on 56k and they were taking FOREVER to download)

I agree - awesome pics Nfarzen.

My digicam is 2 years old now. I need to upgrade, and get one with a better zoom. I have a pic of an owl on a neighbors roof, I'll see if I can dig it up.

I'll triple the motion, nice pics nfarzan. Pagemap, I have a problem finding the focal point of your pics. A lot of them seem pretty blurry.

But, practice makes purpose bro. Keep working with that camera!

Here's a couple from my summer trip to Mazatlan, Mexico. Taken with an Olympus D-40 resized from 1600x1200 to 800x600 :

Well to risk sounding like an idiot( which wouldn't be the first time) I would say that one technique I learned is to find a target, zoom if you got it and focus on it. Then zoom back just a bit and your target remains in focus. That's actually a filming technique but it works all the same.

There are many much more talented folks on here than me though. It would be nice to get their input as well(psycho, mojo, and these two dudes to name a few).

Here's two pics taken with my aging Photosmart 315 digital camera... it's not the best camera around, but I think the shots are OK.

If only I had brought my digital camera to work with me yesterday -- the sunrise was just spectacular due to the amount of clouds there were in the sky. THAT would have made a great pic.

On another note, is there a way to reduce the reflection coming off a window? I took some pics recently while in a bus, and many of them have the image of me (and my camera) reflected off the glass.

    cool...

but the SouthTrust building wouldve looked a LOT cooler if you had a tripod, and did a 6 or 8 second time exposure.

Yeah, went there with Jeremy Heldt, Mr. Z, and the rest of the Heldts on July. I took a couple of the pics, I think I took one of the sunset one and some other one. Jeremy took the rest...

Not really with a digital camera. In real photography, you screw/tack on a Polarizer filter, which you then manually rotate up until you can see (in the reflex camera) that the reflection has gone away. You can also use that filter to take photos of the inside of reflective glass skyscrapers, or to enhance the reflectiveness. Some digital cameras have this optional filter available, but most do not. Since it is an optical property, there is no digital or non/mechanical solution to it.. (well, which is implemented).

    well, since we're all sharing...

this has always been one of my favorite pics... who knew that a Lousiana bayou could be so pretty! taken on my Canon s100.

and this wasn't intentional at ALL, but i loved how the lighting turned out in this one:
