    Question

Anyone knows of any decent[1] men's clothing stores besides the usual suspects (Nordstrom, JCrew, EddieBauer, LandsEnd, Gap)? I've to basically get a new wardrobe and don't want to end up being a posterboy for a particular store/brand. Thanks.

[1] Decent as in the quality of the stuff matches the price, and not how popular the brand is with HS/college kids.

try bachrach.com, they're having some big clearance sales. Nice button-up shirts for $9 and such. Good enough quality to wear with suits.

I don't want to sound offensive, but bachrach.com was posted recently, MaggieOK.
Moreover, there're not so many stuff on sale like in Gap or any other clothing stores.

Kenas, and your point would BE? I don't see you helping answer a QUESTION. Lay off. And yes, it was posted recently, I helped the guy FIND the deal he posted. What are you saying? If a deal is posted, no one else can mention it when someone asks a question?

Not only do you sound offensive, but you also sound like a retard. Why are you trying to instigate?

www.jerkface.com has a small but nice collection of clothes.

I also have nothing but praise for Bachrach. My brother first recommended them to me, but their stuff was a bit out of my price range. I would say their quality is certainly comparable to Armani; they're just a bit less well-known. Their stuff sure ain't cheap at the retail stores (which DO exist in nice shopping areas in the northeast or mid-Atlantic), but this online sale was fantastic. I got two sportcoats--one is cashmere, which my girlfriend loves--and three nice dress shirts for $155. The stuff looks great and the quality can't be beat. First-rate customer service, as well, when I had a question about my order. I highly recommend them if they have stuff in your size left.

No idea. I just got mine in. The clothes were good(but definately not Armani style). But for 2 pairs each of slacks, shorts and shirts, for $83...not bad. BTW, the selection was most huge, when the deal was FIRST posted(so I don't know what Kenas is talking about).

    Cool

I just recieved my shippment from Bachrach yesterday. I ordered 3 pairs of cotton twill shorts for $9 a piece and I must say the quality far exceeds Gap or Eddie Bauer! To be honest, I wasn't really too sure what to expect since I had never heard of them before but I was VERY pleasently surprised. BTW...their packaging was first class...let me rephrase that, it wasn't sent 1st class, yet the way it was packed was 1st class! LOL

Now, back to deciphering what the hell Kenas wrote.

    Heres your answer:

If it weren't for MaggieOK giving me that heads up of that BachRach deal that was on DealHunting I would have my same old tattered clothes I have have had for years. Not only were the clothes cheap, but they were top notch quality and shipping was even free. I ordered around 25 shirts and 5 pairs of pants and 23 of the Shirts and all of the pants were awesome. I remember way way way back when when Paul Frederick had that $7.50 cent shirt and it was a piece of you know what but this stuff is great quality. Thanks again MaggieOK!!!!

I saved about 2000 dollars when I calculated it all up and I look GOOD

Wow, yeah, I thought that site was kind of crappy, considering there are only two shirts/jackets/whatever. HOWEVER, upon re-examination, there's a next button. Magically...I'm an ass. There's quite a bit more out there.
The word on the street is that this stuff is pretty decent quality? Hmm. Do I really need clothing? I guess not...but what the hell.

I just got the stuff I ordered from bachrach today, and the things I ordered look great. It was really inexpensive and even the packaging looked good. Awesome deal.

Yes Quest I do, however casual shirts and shorts aren't a big risk. A Suit on the otherhand, now that could be a bit risky!

BTW...I took advantage of the other online store that was posted here as well...Bigwords.com. They have nice clothes but I guess I really didn't know what I was getting myself into. The shorts I ordered go past my knees and the pants...well let's just say I could fit 2 peeps in each pantleg!!! Now this isn't bad if you're a teenager, but at 32 I'm looking like a pimp daddy boyeeeee!!! LOL, I swear they didn't look that baggy in the picture!

I swear, Bachrach is not paying me nearly enough (i.e., nothing) to promote their service. . .

    Cribbed directly from their site:

For semi-formal men's clothing, I've never had a problem with fit when I ordered stuff in my size. A 42 long is a 42 long is a 42 long. If you don't know your sizes, guessing is a bad idea, but checking stuff you already have that fits should work, and measuring yourself isn't that hard. Let it be known that I am aware of the play-on-words potential of the last clause in the previous sentence.

Well, I am VERY happy with the quality. But no way would I call it Armani. The material is a little thin(at least stuff I got). And I saw a few imperfections in stitching. But let me stress, for the price, this place opens a can of whup-a$$ .

    To the_dude8. . .

The cashmere sportcoat was $49, regularly $495. Oddly enough, it fits me quite well (I am thin but with broad shoulders, and suit jackets/sportcoats are often too loose in the waist for me, but not this one) and does not need to be adjusted at all. I wasn't crazy about the color (brown) at first, but I've grown to like it over the past two days since it arrived.

My name is too long? Okay. . . well, you could just call me "Rev" or "The Rev" or "Grand Exalted Chieftain Lord King Poo-bah of All Things Wonderful."

I'm up too late again and the nice men in the white lab coats forgot to give me my pills. . .

Er, in response to the second question, I have been told that the quality is quite nice. My girlfriend has a lot more experience with cashmere than I do, and she says it's nice, so I'll take her word for it. Whether you do or not is at your sole discretion. I'm not going to make up your mind for you.

The Dude: I got 2 pairs of Cavalry Twill pants (one in kakhi and one in charcoal), a pair of Sydney Pants in chino, cargo pants in tan, and a pair of Douglass Pant.

Actually I would compare it to Armani. The quality is top notch. The only two shirts I returned were because the color was not very good. The best part about it is that you can order online and return it to your mall. I wish I could do that with staples!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not too sure about cash refunds, but I've done exchanges at a local Staples. There was this plastic drawer/chest thing that I got that was damaged by the gorillas UPS hires, and I took it to a local Staples ~3.5 weeks after I received it... They were rather nice about it - no questions asked, they looked at my receipt, told me they didn't have an exact replacement, offered me a choice of similar products as replacement, etc. The salesperson who handled my... urm... case was rather cute too.

Anyhow, thanks for the responses... I've already ordered (and received) a few shirts from Bachrach. Now to look for more semi-formal/business-casual shirts and pants.
