What do you all think about the new Mazda RX-8?

I'm glad they kept the rotary engine, but they lost the turbos which makes me sad. The NA 13B twin-rotor Renesis engine pumps out 247 horses.

    Estimated Performance:

    0-60 : 6.3 secs
    0-100 : 16.5 secs
Quarter Mile : 14.9 secs at 95 MPH

I think it looks good myself... Wish they would have kept the turbo's on it. Those are what made the FD body RX7's so much fun

i saw motorweeks review of the new rx-8 this past week and one thing they said they do not like is that the new rx-8 is not a sports car. it looks like a sports car, but has 4 seats. i missed the first part of the piece but that was all they kept saying towards the end.

Pretty sharp, except for the generic wheels. One of the nicer designs to come along in awhile.

I like...I don't expect it to be a super-hardcore sports car though...since Mazda is thinking about releasing a new RX-7 anyways. It should be somewhere in between a sports sedan and a hardcore car though.

Twin turbo would be nice though. Looks grew on me, i like it.

I think it might be going against sports sedans instead of true sports cars.
Personally I think it rocks. I wouldn't exactly buy it after owning a Mazda...but you never know.

I kinda like the look of the new z. the interior could use a little work though. i hate the steering wheel they stuck in there.

i personally love it and am considering it for my next car.... (in a few years, hopefully, they'll have a turbo on it by then)

and contrary to motorweek, C&D says even though it has 4 seats, it's still a sports car (not like the maxima when they claimed they were sports cars)

i agree 100%, the front is nice, but the back is just too damn bubbly. at first i thought it was a new lexus soarer.
im not a big mazda fan, but im IN LOVE with the new rx-8, they are planning to make a turbo'd one in the near future. well thats wat it sed on the video that came in the mail. (it was a CD in the shape for a Rotor)

since were on the mazda subject, i think the new mazda speed protoge is nice. if they turbo a protege, u know thats the direction there going for there sporty cars.

If it's anything like the MKIV Supra with the 4 seats, that means it really has two seats.....that is, unless you've got two Oompa Loompas that need a ride somewhere.

Even if there isn't a turbo that comes stock, why not just put a nice huge aftermarket turbo?

I think the car looks pretty nice.....

I like it... it looks nice and redlines at 9000 rpm's... how can you go wrong with a car like that?

Personally though, I'm kinda wanting to see what the replacement for the surpa will look like.

i am with you on that one.

RX-7 , i was talking to a guy at the mazda factory in hiroshima this summer and he told me why they stopped exporting them to the US : mazda doesnt want to alter the car at all to conform to US emission standards. they like it the way it is, i do too.

Man, i wish they had that car in the US still . the newest models bear a striking resemblance to a viper, low, fat back end, huge scoops in front of the doors. except japanese quality. gorgeous car and fast too. i want to import one

I wouldnt buy it. The engine is not quality. I'd get something else for the same price.
