good idea? or bad: stapling instead of sewing...

ok, i went to target yestiddy and forgot to pick up one of them sewing kits people use for...when they don't want to really sew something. you know....5 or so needles, some string...way too much money but they know they got you...

anyhow, i can't find my kit around the apt. but i can find a stapler. i dont wanna do it, but i gotta wash this comforter.

so how bad would it be if i put about, say, 3 to 5 staples in the 2 inch section that i wanna close off? remember, this is a comforter and will have to go in one of the front-loading machines, so there wont be a lot of movement. the stuffing is apparently one piece, and it's a quality one (prolly from nordstrom or some ish).

lol...i can do this. however, i don't want comforter bits all over. if that's gonna happen, you'll have to get your "death of a comforter" pics elsewhere

Staples work fine as a temporary emergency repair, but I wouldn't do it on anything you are gonna wash. Unless you really have a thing for rust.

    Use LOTS of staples.... jk!

Does a neighbor have a sewing kit or something? Maybe you could just borrow needle and thread from them.....

I don't think this'll stop anything though - the better you idiot-proof a system, the more impressive the idiot becomes.

go to your local Best Western, Howard Johnson etc.. tell them your girlfriend sent you down from the room to get a sewing kit.

They give them out for free

I think you'd be better off using duct tape, personally.

i've stapled my pants (being a short guy) throughout college, whenever i bought new pants.

works, but if that comforter is expensive/nice...i wouldn't have done it.

Good thing you blurred out your address in the last picture. You wouldn't want someone breaking in and stealing your comforter and/or stapler!
