    Good cheap/free photo editing program?

My Dad got his Camedia(?) 4.0 camera and laptop etc. He's been using a lowend adobe photoshop. Whats a good and easy to use photo editing program? Should we upgrade or try a new one.

    TIA

Free basic easy to use one (if you are running MS Office) - MS Photo Editor. You may have to run the office setup again to install it, since it's not installed by default.

Good cheap powerful program - PaintShop Pro - does 95% of what Photoshop can do for about 90% less cost.

You can download an eval & check it out (warning - it's a 30+ MB download).

This came with my old digital camera from Ricoh. This software is powerful yet really easy to use. Still use once in a while.

just use the photo program that comes with office... that is cheaper and more reliable.. especially for beginners, it has some neat features that aren't too complicated to use and fun to play around with.. photoshop can get complicated at times.. or most of the time in my case.. so yeah

I've been using "Unlead iPhoto express" for acquiring images from my scanner, digital camera and web cam. simple to use and editing pictures is a snap. I've used other programs including the ones that came with the products I have purchased and I do like the ease of this particular one.
