    outlook express and AIM

    ....are annoying together.

with the newest versions, when you start Outlook express, AIM automatically starts. I figured out how to get it to stop Logging on to AIM automatically, but it still pops up the Sign In Window. ANyone gotten rid of this ? I will try anyting! i am about to punch my screen

I hate all this super-intrusive software!!!

Taken from the AIM feedback page:

If you prefer not to have AIM integrated into Outlook Express, go to the Sign On/Off preferences category in AIM and disable the "Make AIM my default instant messaging program" option. Restart your computer if the change is not taking effect after exiting AIM and restarting Outlook Express.

I've had problems with outlook express 6 locking up after trying to sign on and not on just one computer, on three different ones, they all have the exact same problem and two of them don't have AIM.

what virus scanner do you use?
virus scaners are notorious for screwing up "email scanning"

Two of them have Norton, one with AIM and one without and the other doesn't have any anti virus program or AIM...But since you did mention it I will attempt to remove outlook for nortons protected e-mail system.
