    Question

Hi, guys I need some deals or information on WebHosting. I don't want those free webhostings that place ad banners like webjump, or geocities. I like HostPro, but they are expensive and I was wondering if anyone has any "Promotion" codes for webhosting or suggestions. PLEASE HELP, I will come back and post my new site up for everyone to check it out later on if I do get a good one. THANX!!!!!!!!!

eWebCity (http://www.ewebcity.com) is free, no banners or popups, 30mb and supports ASP. I have noticed server problems at times, though.

I use CoolLink hosting (http://www.coolwebhosting.com). 50mb, supports FrontPage, FTP, Cold Fusion, RealAudio, ASP, unlimited POP addresses and 99.9% guaranteed uptime. $99 for one year with no setup fee if you sign up through http://www.tigerdirect.com, although they will charge you $12 to send you a piece of paper with your authorization code!

if you are willing to shell 20 bucks a month, try hostac.com. Before they switched to premium adult hosting, they had good plans and reliable technical support team
You can still contact them about their regular hosting plans. First month free if you ask for it and it's 20 dollars a month for 30mb of space..

    just my few thought http://www.hostac.com

I guess those beat the hell out of the $7.50 I could offer. $1... that's pretty cheap.

I haven't used it yet, but it sounds good enough. $10 for the domain, then $25 hosting fee per year, so end up with $35 per year. You get 1MB (which is not enough, but you always get the free one out there), 1 POP e-mail, Front-page, blah blah blah...

Be wary of any deals that are too good to be true. While I don't have any experience with the $1/mo host, I would be willing to bet money they have crap tech support (if they even have any). I've heard www.hostme.com is really good, but they aren't exactly cheap.

Best way to go is to decide what you're using your site for, and how important uptime is to you. If it's just a small site, and it won't hurt you much if it's down every once in a while (say a couple hours a week or so) then go with the cheapest one you can find. If you plan on making money from it and/or will have a complicated site (with lots of cgi-scripts, forum, chat, etc.) then pay the extra for a reliable host.

I run a webhosting company myself (no I'm not posting the URL cause the site's not quite ready, and don't want to break any forum rules) but I'm not exactly cheap. It's 30/mo for a pretty decent package; this is what I need to actually afford to stay in business. Much less and I'll be running myself to death to please people only paying $5/mo or whatnot. In the end I have fewer, but happier customers, and make the same money. Plus I can stay in business

    Cool

well, thanx everyone once again, I have been getting lots of helpful emails and respondes from the forum. Just to clear up everyone's question, my websites will be about web graphics and kinda of like an entertainment site for like really cool web graphics/animations. I am a web/graphic designer student, so I am really interested in putting my portfolio and resume online for viewing. So once again, it's not about pornos or e commerce, but I do want fast reliable connections at all times. THANx everybody!!!!

It's pretty easy for them to set this up, but yet it seems most hosts don't offer this. You don't want domain forwarding, which is just having multiple domains forward to the same site. Instead, many hosts allow you to pay an extra $15 or so one-time fee and they will setup the domain to point to a subdirectory under your existing account.

The advantages are, of course, you don't pay more per month. The disadvantages are that it's still just one account, so it's fine for you but not if you're trying to resell space to other customers. www.prohosting.com does this pretty well, check them out.
