    Gangs of New York

A very riveting movie with some very good acting. Made me appreciate the cushy life that I have.
If half of what they portrayed was true, NYC must have been a horrible place to live 150 years ago.

I saw G.o.N.Y last weekend..it was good-but wayyyyy too long. Someone told me it was a book first-and didn't really follow the book exactly-either/or/ it was long, with alot of scenes that really weren't needed if you ask me..Daniel Day Lewis was GROSS! For him being a good looking guy-they really did a great job of making him be a greasy yet powerful guy. My favorite person in the movie though was GARY LEWIS -who played MCGLOIN..he played the father from BILLY ELLIOT...I like that guy. He's just so so..so..SCOTTISH!

I saw this movie on new years eve...

yes it was LONG...but I liked it alot...I could have done without all the blood...there was times where I would tense up or grab dopeys arm or jump...I really liked it...and if there's a book about it, I know what I'm reading next....

I almost fell asleep during part of it..I mean how many naked breasts can you see before it starts getting boring...I wonder though-if it is a true story..
apparently, Herbert Asbury wrote the book of the same name in 1928-here is a link to Amazon.com..the review is pretty descriptive-so I guess alot of it did come from factual information. -go figure.
