I went this morning to the local office max and picked up my I/O magic CD burner and a pack of Fuji discs for a total of $50.86. I just need to m ail in my rebates and I've sure as heck got a deal. I had tried to purchase this in the morning off of its website but it wouldn't give me my $30 instant store discount. Ohh well...

    Just called my local OM

and they are out of the I/O's. They offered the CenDyne Internal 48x12x48 CD-RW Drive at the same price with a $30 MIR.

Anyone have any luck with the CenDyne or should I wait for a better deal to come around?

    Thanks.

i got two of the IO magic drives this morning. put one in already and it works fine. sounds like a jet plane.

the cendyne drives are fine too, i've got one of those as well. hell, burners are all the same if you ask me. a couple years ago, i'd say to get a plextor and nothing else. but now i say get whatever is cheapest. they all have some sort of buffer underrun protection, and they're all fairly generic. sort of like a floppy drive.
yeah, pretty much we missed the boat on that one. but it's still here. get you some.

Are these CD Burners just rebadged lite-on's? Do they come with Nero?

    Aren't the Lite-On's 48x24x48? Or do they have a 48x16x48 as well?
