    Microsoft word XP queston

    Ok i know it's something totally simple, but i think i covered everything already


    When i start MS word on my dad's computer, the margins are non existant, the type starts at the top left corner and goes all the way down. any ideas?

    If its like Word 2000, go to View, then select Print Layout.

    Yup, that'll work. Or, you could press this button in the lower left corner.

    Ok, then I think you might have the "hide white space" option selected. Hover the cursor at the very top or bottom of the page (if you have two pages, you would see a solid black line between the two).

    Your cursor should change into something that looks like an "H" with a down arrow in the top half and an up arrow in the bottom half. You should also eventually see a tooltip display that says "Show White Space" (if it says "Hide White Space" then this isn't your problem). Now click the left mouse button.

    Give that a shot and report back...
