    Question Outlook Calendar Appointments

The problem: When I type directly into a day cell in the monthly calendar view (in Outlook XP) and hit enter, the info I typed moves to the current day (today). I want the info to stay in the day cell where I typed it, whether it be in the future or in the past.

The background: I used to be able to do this before upgrading to Win XP and Office XP. Also, I installed the same software into another computer and it works fine there.

The disclaimer: I quit smoking crack a long time ago. I swear.

The plea: Please help me, oh wise cyber-Jedis!!!!!

    Go here:

    http://office.microsoft.com/ProductUpdates/default.aspx

Click on the link that says "Scan my computer for updates". This will see if you need any patches for Office. If you have installed straight from the disk and have not patched it at all, there will be probably about 3 updates that you need to run. Keep running them until you no longer need any updates.

Let me know if you have the problem still after the updates.

Actually that was the second thing I tried (the first was to kick the monitor) and I already had all the patches and upgrades. I also looked in the Microsoft self-help database and found no answer. I'm guessing it's some obscure setting and not so much a software bug but who knows. Any other tips?

As your lawyer I would suggest renting a convertable 74 cadilac, fill the trunk with budligit, ether and a suitcase full of drugs and drive out to las vegas...of course you will be needing legal representation on this trip....

Cereal though, I am using Office XP and it doesn't do that. I'm not sure what is wrong with your's I think you might need a gun...I will contemplate your problem as I walk the earth brother...of course I might be walking forever

Did you do the Windows Update or the Office Update? If you use the Windows update, it won't download any of the Office patches that you need.

If you did, my advice would be to export your inbox and calendars to a .pst file, then uninstall, reboot, and reinstall Outlook.

I regularly check for Windows Updates but in this case, I did check for Office patches and updates and learned I already had them all. Can I reinstall Outlook only from my Microsoft Office XP cd-rom? Or will it just try to reinstall all Office components?

Thank you again for all your attention.
