    Problems....big problems....help me please!

Alright....for the last few weeks, a few programs have decided to stop working!

These are the programs so far that do not work anymore: CDex, Quicktime, and PowerDVD.

CDex - Crashes right after I open it.

Quicktime - Plays for a second and then freezes.

PowerDVD - Opens, but when I try to play anything, it crashes.

Do ya'll have any idea why that would happen?

Athlon XP 1600+ w/thermalengine and delta
    ASUS av78x
    512MB PC 2700
    Antec 430 TruPower
    Albatron ti4200
    WinXP Home edition

I think that's all the hardware you would need to know about, but if you need more please tell me!

    Thanks all!

I don't think this'll stop anything though - the better you idiot-proof a system, the more impressive the idiot becomes.

Pretty vague, have you tried reinstalling those programs?

Might wanna go swing over to Windows Update, they have an update for similar symptoms of which you speak that occurs after one of their previous updates is installed. /oops, Microshaft did it again. Well anyways, I suggest you check it out because they don't have it listed as a critical update so you won't be getting one of those reminders to pop up either.

You may also have to reinstall the programs again. Something about setting a value of 0 when certain programs are installed or something like that. Go over there and read up on it.

Call me Capt. Obvious, but you might need to focus on one of your drivers. The only thing they all seem to have in common is video/multimedia...

Let us know what the answer ends up being.
