David Bloom, NBC reporter, dies of heart attack in Iraq

David Bloom, an NBC News correspondent traveling with the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division outside Baghdad, died Sunday, NBC announced. Bloom, a 39-year-old husband and father of three, died of an apparent pulmonary embolism, the company said. He was the second American journalist to die in Iraq since the war began.

That sucks..he was one of the few reporters I enjoyed watching.
I was absolutely stunned when I read that tonight.

I could not sleep last night so I flipped on the tube and saw this news. Very, very sad. I have been watching mostly MSNBC and I thought David Bloom's reports were awesome. My condolences go out out his family.

Anyone else think the sand he injested was responsible?

I just saw the Today Show's goodbye salute to him. Very, very touching. I wish I could have as much passion as he appeared to have.
