Symantec Rebates DIRECT Telephone Number

This is mainly for anybody who got in on the “MS Money, TaxCut and Norton Firewall for $20 profit “ deal in early to mid January. (Thanks again!) It may come in handy for other recent Symantec rebates.

The rebates are way over due. Symantec’s rebate clearing house, rebatestatus.com, only lists the rebates as “valid”, no other info. Calling the automated phone number on the rebate slip will get you a message that the rebate was paid (in my case on 2/1/03) and I should receive it “shortly”. They do not return your phone calls as they promise.

The direct number is 1-800-441-7234, press option#2. After a short wait for a human operator, ask for a HUMAN rebate customer service rep. (CSR). After a second short wait you should actually get real rebate CSR. Total waiting time was under 5 minutes. YMMV.

In my case the three rebates sent in January and “paid” on 2/1/03 should be received sometime in early May (that’s shortly?). Best of luck to all of you.
