Actually pennies have a couple good uses.

1) You can wedge them in the space between the door and door frame to lock someone in their dorm room.

2) This is always a hoot. During parades, its fun to try to toss them in the tubas as the band marches by.

It depends on my mood. I used to follow the old superstition of heads up only, but then I realized that was bull, so now that has nothing to do with my inclination to pick it up.

I guess half the time, I pick it up, the other half of time I think about the ground and what people do to it and just keep on walking.

yeh, sometimes i pick one up and sometimes i don't. if it's a shiny one i will most always pick it up. i know i penny discriminate.
when i don't pick one up and then i need one cent for a transaction that penny i left behind immediately comes to my mind and how i could be using it RIGHT NOW.
