    Not a "+" drive.

Probably better to stay away from it...

    DVD+ Better?
    How is it?

The reason I stay away from DVD+ Medias
1st - Many Old DVD PLAYER cannot read them.
2nd - Blank Media cost Double compare to DVD-
3rd - It is not by DVD-Forum.. (Personally, I just think
Ricoh, Sony, Philips just try to make themselve unique
and avoid paying the authorize fee so they can make more
    money..)
    So that "DVD+RW Alliance" created.

By comparing the Specs between DVD- and DVD+, I only see the
Speed of DVD- generally slower than DVD+ and using DVD- use LPP
    DVD+ use Wobble for addressing.

Also, if DVD+R is so good. Why Sony made Drive write DVD- and DVD+?
Sony dont have confidence at their own DVD+ Standard?

That just what I am wondering and thoughts. No offence or
    anything.

BTW: For me this drive is better because of the DVD-RAM. I hate
to do the Finalize thingy all the times for rewrite...

    Thanx~~ ^_^
To Buy or Not To Buy.
    That is the Question!

    Not good IMO.

    It is a "-", not a "+".
    And only burns at x2.

    I've seen DVD+RW for $180.

    They right DVD-R's at 4x and 2.4 I think on the +RW.
I know people with the xBox who need the +RW in some cases to make game CD's.

I should have been more clear, but their are drives by NEC that are +RW for the same price.

    Just my thoughts...

You mean DVD+R's don't you. I just bought a NEC ND-1100A retail +R/+RW for $170 including tax (free shipping and no rebate) on a Dell deal that was recently posted. The 4X DVD+R speed will come in handy when 4X media prices come down.
