    Next-generation consoles

    Why are people still calling the Playstation 2, GameCube and XBOX "next-generation" consoles? Aren't they the current generation systems?

    Seems a bit silly to me.

    What do y'all think?

    If they are they should stop being that companies like Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo is using that term for their next systems coming in 2005-2006.

    I think some folks just got use to using "next generation consoles" for these current systems because everyone was using the term for a few years before they came out.
