    Question Memorial Day plans?

I'm going to an all-day party with about 20 people. What are you doing?

I'm just hoping we actually get the day off. My boss doesn't believe in stopping for anything. I think the last day we took off was New Year's day and he was contemplating making us work then too.

Shall we buy a new guitar?
Shall we drive a more powerful car?

Are you the guy who sits in the lawn chair drinking a beer while your friend works on his house? Me too!

Hubby mentioned something about Lake Powell and camping, but I don't know if that is set in stone. We may just go offroading.

we're talking about going to the palace to watch it in person.

but if we don't do that, then we'll definitely watch it on TV.

No, but someone has to hold the ladder. Besides, it's his house, and I'm afraid of heights. I wouldn't get on a 30-foot ladder unless you put a gun to my head.

Saturday night is my son's graduation party. We'll have about 150-200 people over a hog roast. Some family members are camping out at our farm. Monday we'll probably still be cleaning up.

Friday night, I'm going to the bar.
Saturday I'm going to a taping of The New Man Show
Sunday I'm going to a tattoo convention in Anaheim
    Monday I'm sleeping in.

Throw about a case of beer in there, and you have my basic weekend

I am booked to fly back to NJ this saturday and attend my brother's Yale Law School graduation on Monday. BUT.....

So, there was an explosion at Yale Law School today and fortunately my brother nor anybody else was hurt. I just saw pictures of smoke coming out one of the buildings and initial reports said that there was some significant damage. The FBI has also sent a terrorist task force out there to investigate.

Can you say murphy's law? I was excited to see my brother graduate this coming monday, since I missed his undergrad graduation ceremony because my high school wouldn't let me out of finals (those bastards). Mom called me after she heard about the explosion and since she's like all parents, she told me that coming home this weekend may not be such a good idea. Also, with the entire nation on this orange alert, my brother even said if you don't have to fly, then don't. With my brother's past experiences, I think i may have to take his word for it...but i'll chat with the 'rents...sigh, looks like i'll be missing the 2nd most important day of my brother's life so far. Just wait, when he gets married i'll probably miss his wedding.....

wow! your bro is graduating from YLS? that's awesome! tell him congrats

as for the risks of going out there, i wouldn't sweat it. from all early indications, this was probably the work of some weirdo out in new haven, not international terrorists or anything like that. as for the orange alert...ehhh, screw it.

then again, i was on an airplane the second day after airports reopened following september 11, 2001, and i was in another airplane on sept 11, 2002. i don't really worry too much about that stuff. i think the risk is pretty low....and it's probably not worth missing a major event in your brother's life just for such a small risk. just my opinion......
