i'm looking for a place to find PBS brakes for my blades.. but i can't find them anywhere cuz they don't make this type anymore..
but would u guys know any online place where i can find them? or any body have extras i can buy??

hill + novice rollerblader = out of control, wipe out, bad-bery-bery- bad. i was rollerblading on the shoulder of the road and i kissed a guardrail because i got going too fast down a hill and couldn't slow up.
Speaking of blades, anyone have a good recommendation these days? I've been out of it for a few years. I have 2 skates, roces moscows circa 1996 which I LOVE but fear that they will fall apart soon. I also have some missions (circa 2000) for rollerhockey when I was a C-leauge scrub. Gotta sell those.
Haven't skated ('cept for 1 time) since I got the puppy and now I'd like to get back into it.
Any advice? I prefer straps/buckles over laces, at least up top.
straps and buckles are the only way to go. i have some Bauer blades myself. they are very comfortable, great ankle support.

i have two pairs
k2 enemy, which are now sort of out though they are really solid skates
and a pair of cheesy $40 hockey blades, which arnt all that bad and gave me a good season, ill be starting up again soon enough hopefully.
as far as normal skates go, i have no idea, never did it, it was always hockey or agressive for me...
I need to get mine out and get out on them again. I used to love rollerskating as a kid. I bought me a pair, tried it out and put them away. (Yes, wrist pads, at least, are a must!) Just not the same as my 4 wheelers. Maybe I should try some of the newer 4 wheeler models out there instead...
how the hell do u do a hockey stop on blades???
i can do the one where u put ur feet in a "T" position.. but i don't wanna wear out my wheels.
circle stop if you arnt gonna try to hockey stop with blades, just open your feet up like a duck and doing a circle get used to it and you can brake pretty fast... dont worry about your wheels or if you do buy some labeda's i have them on my hockey skates i do hockey stops on the roads all the time and they barely lost the line from manufacturing in the last month from 4 months skating.
aren't hockey stops the ones where you just move your feet perpendicular to where you're going? I dont think concrete's going to shave off and let you stop nicely...
T stops or the ones where you just go in a small circle is doable with inline skates...

Normally I am skating so fast that I either need use the brake to slow down a bit or hop onto some grass before I can either circle stop or hockey stop. Otherwise, converting such linear momentum into angular momentum with a circle stop would throw me on the ground... and trying to hockey stop just isn't smart at 20 MPH.

Try dragging your feet (sort of like a t-stop). It wears your wheels out tho, but its better than scrapping your face off the concrete.
