    Cool

For those of you who can't wait for Twec.com to get more dreamcasts in stock, try this one...

Go to JCPenny.com and order a dreamcast for $159.99. Have it shipped to the JC Penny nearest you. Then when you pick it up, apply for the JC Penny credit card and use the instant 10% off on the dreamcast making it $143.99+shipping. Then go to sega.com and get the $50 rebate (must buy before August 31) which makes the grand total $93.99+shipping. It might come out more the Twec.com's final price, but if you can't wait, it's probably worth it.

I already checked with JC Penny, and they told me that I could apply the instant 10% off on online purchases as long as I ship it to the store.

Not that I care for dreamcast, but you can get it even cheaper if you use this from flamingoworld.com[*]20% off under $50, 25% off $50-$100, 30% off $150+, Code: CR8 exp.9-19[*]20% off under $50, 25% off $50-$100, 30% off $150+, Code: CR8 exp.9-19
    so $159 * 70%= 111.13 then minus new card 10% = $100.17 then minus $50 rebate=$50.17

Being a computer geek that I am, I would rather spend $1000 on a Athlon system with Geforce than $59 on dreamcast.

    Thumbs up

I think if you use the 30% off coupon, it takes it from the original price of $199.99. Still, it comes out pretty damn cheap...$75.99+shipping in the end. I ordered mine the old way but called for a price adjustment using the 30% off coupon. Thanks a lot vladger.

I was hoping the 30% would come off the $159 price. Oh well, not bad but a lukewarm deal.

Don't think it'd be successful to have first-person shoting game on any gaming console 'cept computer. I can hardly imagine playing Quake III on DC. Nah~

    You're right, but...

I've heard Sega is coming out with a keyboard and mouse for DC so people can use it to access the net. And id software (who did the Q3A DC port themselves) have stated that they are planning on supporting this. So it may not be that bad. Downside is no mods (Rocket Arena 3 anyone?).

I also heard they will release a mod for the PC version to make it possible to play againsts DC players. Can you say Cannon Fodder??? (Especially if they're using the control pad!)

    Cool

Guys, if you can wait a month, I read an article about EBworld's quarterly report and their plans for the PS2 release.

In the article they said that the Dreamcast will begin selling at a $99 price point some time next month. I'm sure we could all find a coupon somewhere when that happens to get the price down even further.

Besides, with all the "free" games out there for Dreamcast, it'll be worth it.

    Red face

    Warning.
I just spent 30 min adding a Dreamcast reg 199 on sale for 169 and three other items to my cart. When I checked out and was ready to order, the price of the dreamcast changed to back to 199 and two of the other items I had in my basket "were not subject to the promotion".

As far as TVs go. There are some on the site that sell for above MSRP on phillipsmagnavox.com!! So after the 30% off you are paying just under MSRP...beware.

Better off going to 800.com or Mercata.
