Screenwriter Ryne Pearson (Mercury Rising) will adapt a remake of the Pang brothers thriller The Eye for Paramount Pictures-based Cruise/Wagner Prods. and Vertigo Entertainment.

The story follows a blind girl who, after receiving a cornea transplant, begins to see ghosts among the living. She sets out to uncover the origins of her cornea and the nefarious history of its donor.

Dimension-based Vertigo also exec produced 2002's The Ring at DreamWorks Pictures, based on Hideo Nakata's Japanese thriller Ringu.
