    Cool

EqualFooting.com is an online B2B marketplace. Their catalog is stocked with products fulfilled by egistered suppliers/sellers (Staples is one of them.) Register as a new buyer now, entering the special code 23023ia when asked, and you'll receive the amount of your first order (up to a max of $50) rebated from EqualFooting! Good until 09/30/00. Plus, for a limited time, they are also offering a full rebate of shipping costs (up to a max of $100, for Ground Shipping only!) Finally, they also offer a 110% Low Price Guarantee on anything you buy for 14 days following your purchase.

    Register here: http://www.equalfooting.com/ef/main/...place_home.jsp

You can apply your $50 to anything offered through their marketplace, but I like this deal: They have the Logitech Cordless iTouch Keyboard (only 12 in stock as I post this!) for $69.95 (find it by searching for "logitech itouch" in their search box.) Be sure to ship it by Ground!

After ordering, call their customer service at 1-877-553-7825 and pricematch it against Office Max who has it featured in this week's Sunday flyer for $49.99. OM's price is good through Saturday. CSR will tell you just to fax or email them a copy of Office Max's ad along with a copy of your order and that they'll cut you a check for the difference plus 10%. (If you don't have the ad, Office Max's website also has the $49.99 price, although it shows as an "instant rebate." The Sunday ad doesn't use the word "rebate" at all.) Your final price will be about $47.99.

Then, after your order arrives, call customer service again and arrange your $50 first-order and free-shipping rebates (rebates from EqualFooting arrive within 2 -3 weeks.) Final price = Free!

I know that this doesn't take full advantage of the $50, since the matched price is only around $48. If you really want to squeeze this, you could throw some $2 item in your cart (although it would probably come from another supplier.)

If the Cordless iTouch is gone, just look around; you can still grab $50 of whatever! (They have MS Natural Keyboards for $35.)

    Some Notes:

    1. The registration form asks for company name and it is obvious that the site is geared toward B2B selling. If you are an individual, just enter your own name in the space where it asks for Company Name, because refund checks will be issued to the name you enter here.

    2. When you checkout there is a space to enter promotional codes. CS says to enter the same code as you did during registration (23023ia) here again!

    3. When you enter your order, the $50 code won't reflect anywhere - it's a rebate, not a reduction. If you call their CS, they'll acknowledge the $50.

(For info: The code comes from an EqualFooting promo that appeared the opt-in newsletter from FreeCatalogs.net. Thanks to the ladies over at MC for the code!)

Whuup! Late Addition: Just noticed that someone posted the code over at FW. No mention of the iTouch or pricematch, but a poster there is suggesting this:

Pick up the Lexmark Z11 for $72.83. Shipping rebate (as above.) Less $50 EqualFooting rebate = $22.83. Less Lexmark mail-in rebate for $40 = $27.17 profit! The only possible hitch with this is that the Z11 will be fulfilled by Advanced Web Systems, the seller for that item. I don't think anyone knows for certain whether Advanced web Systems is on Lexmark's list of recognized retailers. If not, they won't honor their mfgr. rebate.

    Exclamation

    It worked for me...

But be aware they still charge you and then send you a refund check after the purchase has been completed. SO PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE or will all be screwed.

Actually, it's not that hard. I just customer service (I talked to Ty Gartner I think) and he told me that you just put in the code when you register and that's it. Just place your order and they automatically process your $50 rebate, you don't even need to put the code in again at checkout (although I would, or at least put a little note with the code at the memo section at the bottom of the order page just to be safe). I was also told that the $50 applies to more than one order (each item is processed as a separate "order" if it's from a different supplier) - so, you can order one $15 item from one supplier and a $35 item from a different supplier, and they'll still give you $50 back.

Thanks! Good find. I got the NEC SuperScript 870 Laser Printer $124.95 after all the rebates and pricematching!

How exactly does the 110% pricematch work? Does that mean they charge you 90% of the lower price? If so, this is a pretty sweet deal. There is a $50 manufacturer's rebate at http://cnet.search.com/search?timeou...aser+Printer+d

    Check it out:
    $299.99 from EqualFooting

    $249.95 from Buy.com
    * 0.9
    --------------------
    $224.95 after pricematch
    -100 (after both rebates)
    ---------
    $ 124.95!!!

godotty; Just for future info, you're close on how 110% pricematching works, but no cigar.

It's not calculated as 10% off the lower price (ie; LP*.90) It's actually calculated as a match to the lower price, then an extra 10% of the difference taken off from there. In formula form it would be: LP-[(HP-LP)*.10]

Regarding the NEC, it would be: $299 - $249 = $50 times 10% = $5....They'll refund an extra $5 off the lower price; $249 - $5 = $244 net cost before any applicable rebates. Final on the NEC, after rebates ($50 and $50)would be $144.

I know that's moot if the NEC is out of stock, but that's how to calculate it if you look for something else.

I'm not sure I'm going to try this deal, but here is something that may be interesting if you don't want a keyboard or a megaphone.... http://www.equalfooting.com/ef/searc...s+%28PDA%27s%2 9+or+Pen-Based+Computers&searchType=5&passURL=%7C4123%7COffice+Supplies%7C4157%7CComputer+Accessories+%26+Per ipherals&isBrowse=true

Thanks for clearing that up, bigfuss.

Ah well, $144...still not a bad deal on a laser printer.

Just got off the phone with a lady from customer service. She said that the code 23023ia is a instant rebate for $50. This sounds too good to be true. I think the customer service lady is lying through her ass.

Read alkatraz's post above. I'd guess that what she meant was that theyll send the rebate automatically on your first order if you've registered with the promo code. It's obviously not an "instant rebate" as we know them from retail shops, since none of us who've ordered got $50 off the order price.

Likewise with the shipping rebate. When you place an order it doesn't show any shipping charges. But their terms and their faq make it clear that that's because shipping charges vary from one seller to another. The actual seller (who will be the one processing the order, issuing the invoice and sending the product) will add shipping and, if geography dictates, tax. That's also why, according to the site, you have to give them a copy of the final shipping charges for the shipping rebate.

I think anyone interested in getting their $50 better look for something other than the iTouch keyboard...quantity now shows as -1. If you try ordering the keyboard now I bet the actual seller will come back to you with a "sorry, out of stock" message. Also, whoever ordered last(could that have been you, importedpimp?) stands a good chance of not being fulfilled.

The supplier system seems odd. Apexies reported the NEC 870 being sold out earlier today, but when i visited they had one left (which i bought ).

The moral of the story is: if they are out of the item you want, try checking back often to see if any suppliers have put any up for sale.

    Whoa...

Please don't abuse this, it's just FYI:

I just called to have them pricematch the NEC 870 printer i ordered yesterday. The customer service representative asked me what price i found it for and i said $249.95. She said the difference was $50 (duh ) and they would send out the rebate check tomorrow. Then i asked her if she needed to know where i found the price and she said no. ??

I didn't actually say the following, but it would have been slightly humorous:

"Oh, did i say $249.95? I meant $.95. Yeah, the price was $.95... really."

Update: The customer service representative just called me back to ask the the name of the site.

I didn't actually say the following either, but it would have been slightly humorous if i had said the previous:

"Oh, did i say $.95? I meant $249.95. Yeah, the price was $249.95... really."

Excuse the bad humor. i'm still recovering from a long night of body shaking (dancing) and 'no-name' liquor drinking.

They probably "limit" the quantity of supply as a marketing scheme. People always want what they cannot have, and feel pretty special when they get the "last" one. Ah well, I felt special for all of...1 hour?

OK... I ordered the itouch keyboard yesterday... it should be coming in soon. Just do this, tell them that buy.com has for it for way cheaper and they will send you back the difference and 10%. After you do that, send in a rebate offer that Logitech has. The rebate is for $10. After you get your $45 check for the keyboard from equalfooting.com, you will then recieve a $10 check from Logitech in a few weeks. you made $10 right there!!! this is what I'm going to do....

    good luck
oops.. here's the link for the rebate.. its a pdf: http://www.logitech.com/lang/global/...ebate14_51.pdf
