Ok, I was in Micro Center, off the 55 freeway, the other day (lunch break) and saw that they had a bunch of new 17" flat screen monitors for $159 a piece. A pretty good deal it seems. .27 dot pitch (blah) but for $160, I just may grab one for a friend. 3-Year warranty. I forget the brand name... but I remember that I had heard of it.

Could we get some more details then, please? I would certainly be interested, as there is a Microcenter 30 minutes away. Thanks!

    Thumbs up

Yes.. more details, please. I am about 4 miles from that same one you went to. .27dpi is not TERRIBLE. Just because there is better doens't make this one total crap.

I am used to a flat screen CRT and I want another monitor. So, getting one with a flat screen again would be nice.

um, i just called Micro Center, and the guy said that the cheapest LCD Flat Screen monitors start off at 2000 dollars, and that the regular flat screens are 300 dollars at the CHEAPEST. I asked about the 159 dollar monitor, but they said that they don't have anything like that....Dave...what brand was the monitor?....are you sure it's there?

Sorry guys, I don't remember the brand. I may have read the box wrong (unlikely, but possible).

I'll see what I can find out. When I was there, the sales people at Micro Center seemed about as bright as the ones at Computer Depot (for those of you not in-the-know... that's about 6-watts bright).

So, I don't know what the story was with the phone call.

The monitors were tagged "special buy," so maybe they are not advertising the deal. Who knows... But, I'll keep you guys posted with what I find.

    Dave.
