    Another elderly driver strikes again.

    Getaway driver was 77-year-old
Italian police who arrested a man thought to be the getaway driver for a gang found he was 77 years old.

The man, identified only as Antonio S, is said to have led officers on a high speed chase through country lanes before being arrested.

He and two others were allegedly behind a £10,000 armed raid on a bank at Marano Ticino in northern Italy.

Officers said while Antonio waited outside the other two men ordered cashiers to fill money bags before they escaped in the car.

Antonio was later arrested alone as he sat parked in a lay-by.

As he was being led away he told officers: "I have nothing to do with this. I have done nothing wrong."

He has been placed under house arrest during the ongoing investigation after magistrates decided he was too old to be kept in custody.

A spokesman said:"When the officers found the car they were amazed to see this elderly grey haired gentleman at the wheel.

"You would expect someone of his age to be out playing cards in his local bar or playing with his grandchildren not being the getaway driver for a gang of bank robbers."

    Disclaimer for the overly sensitive:
I'm just posting this to generate discussion.

    Sheeesh!

Um how is this elderly driver striking again? Are we going to post everything with an old person, a car and a crime now? I didn't get the last joke either

Good post DS... maybe we can get some more good discussion on the issue of elderly drivers, although in this case, it was the man's intentions that did him in - not so much his age.

i see that notice has been sent to those in the medical profession to be more diligent in suggesting to the elderly when it has come to the point that they shouldn't drive anymore due to poor vision, hearing, etc.

OK, I won't post any more stories about elderly drivers.

<Setting: Hansel, Derek, and Matilda in the soil room>

Hansel: It's been an emotional day for all of us.

    ...

Hansel: I think we should get naked.
    Matilda: WHAT?
Hansel: Don't ask questions... just give in to the power of the tea

i am curious about the "flying f***" part. is that like when you are a member of the mile high club? and who would "give that"? i think it's a "take it" thing.
