Sometimes my computer would die on me when I access a certain webpage. It happened once at PSX.IGN.COM and it happened to my sister at UPROAR.COM. The monitor would like turn off as if it was on suspend mode. Once, it even said something like "Scanline exceeded" on the monitor. This happens rarely but it's annoying. My video card is an ATI All-in-Wonder 128 w/ 16 meg of ram (AGP). My monitor is a Sony 200ES. My motherboard is an Abit Be-6.

Also another annoying problem is with the motherboard. My computer won't turn on by simply pressing the power on button. I would have to hit the power switch off on the back of the computer, wait a few seconds, and then switch it back on for the computer to turn on. Apparently it seems like if I choose "Shutdown" to exit Windows, the motherboard doesn't completely turn off. Thus, like stated above, I would have to cut off the power supply, then I would be able to power the system back on.

taht "annoying problem" is the way all atx boards work.

you might wanna up your voltage, it seems like wtvr you're overclocking your chip to, it isn't stable.

For quite some time I've found the IGN.COM sites to be whacked (not to mention annoying since they use popup windows). For example using IE and I scroll using the wheel button of my mouse a new window will open. Or the current window will go forward to some other IGN.Com site.

    xyrth,

i overclocked my p3-450 to 550 and it is running stable at 2.1v. i did up it to 2.2v to see if it would help but i still can't power up my computer without having to disconnect the power supply and wait a few seconds. i don't want to fry my cpu by upping the voltage unneccessarily. are you positive that this is the solution?

definition: All the components you listed are excellent products. The mobo, video card, CPU... The only thing I am wondering about is your case and power supply. That may be your system's Achille's heel.

Please supply us with the make/model/specs of your case/PS.

wheneve you have to pull the plug out of you ps in order to get your compt to turn on again, it means that htere has been a grounding prob in your computer 7 it has to reset the ps. it's very srange that this would ahppen when you access a website.

it sounds like you've possibly got a bare wire in you rcomputer that isn't a ground & is sometime connecting to the case.

do you have the smae prob @ default frequancy and default voltage?

It may be related to a problem with some sort of software module that loads up on those pages, which is hosed on your computer, I'd do a reinstall on the OS b4 I buy new hardware to fix it. Hard to say, but I think that sounds like a good possibility. You might also check to see if you can swap out power supplies with another computer to test if the supply is bad or choking at the higher res. Be extra careful that all of your case leads are connected on the mobo as well. I don't know about that motherboard in particular, but mine is very mean about that sort of thing, and will do weird things if it's not hooked up properly or completely, (even if a LED lead is not hooked up!)...
