User profile in Windows XP Pro

99% of the computers here are desktops that never leave the office or Macs that don't use the domain for much. Today we got a Dell laptop with XP Pro and I'm setting it up for its new master. If I set it up to connect to the domain is there a way that the same profile can be used (my documents, settings and so forth) can be used when they are away from the office and not logging into the domain. We don't use roaming user profiles, all info is stored locally. I know this is sort of a newb question but my server skills are lacking.

You don't have to do anything - the laptop will cache his password from the domain, so he can use his domain logon when he's out of the office & his profile will be the same.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if that was the case or not but just got finished setting it up and found that out. I also found this on Expert's Exchange if anyone is ever needs it, this is for making sure they have administrator rights if you want them to:

01] Go to the control panel
02] Open User Accounts
03] Click the Advanced Tab
04] Click Advanced under Advanced User Management
05] Click Groups
06] Double Click Administrators on the Right (the group)
07] Click Add
08] Click the locations button, choose your domain, click OK.
09] Under 'object names to select', type in <domain>\<user>
10] Click Check Names, it should underline the name if it is working properly.
11] Click OK.
12] Log out and then back in for the changes to take effect

You will need to do this while logged into the domain. If you are prompted for a login during steps 1-8, use Administrator, logging into the local workstation. If you are prompted for a user ID from 10-12, use your domain login ID, logging into the domain.

You won't be able to pick from a list of user IDs, you have to enter it manually.
