    Unhappy

Ok, so i checked that little box that says leave mesages on server....and guess what??

    It didn't work...

So here is my question, how can I get these files back onto the server with their original dates and senders, without reforwarding them to myself...

The goal here is to be able to view the emals via telnet...

    Thanks.

P.S. I'll post this in the software/os forum too...

    Its UCLA's mail server.

through Eudora you put in pop.ben2.ucla.edu but through telnet its just ben2.ucla.edu

I know it didnt work because the emails arent on the server anymore, they are all in my Eudora mailbox.

Well, here's a way to get them back on the server, looking pretty much like they originally did:

    1) Change your name and email address in the Options of Eudora to match the name and email of the sender.
    2) Reset your system clock to the time of the original email.
    3) Copy and paste the email and subjects into a new email to yourself.
    4) Send the email

Unless the server checks (the one at Cal never did), you end up with an email that looks pretty much like the original, except that it usually has From:<emall@address> (X-Sender Unverified) stamped on it. Some servers won't timestamp it and will use your computer time instead, so it may end up looking nearly perfect.

As for why it happened in the first place, assuming that you checked the box _before_ downloading your mail, I don't know why it happened. It could be that it is set to automatically delete messages from server after X days, or that your mail was checked on another Eudora machine....
