I'm back from OHIO!!!

started off thursday afternoon....and started on our trek from Baltimore to Sandusky. during most of the ride....my buddy was telling us of his problems at work and problems with his girl... (he wasn't having a fun week).
but we got there ok at the cedar point resort hotel and had some dinner and whatnot.... we found out that resort people got to get into the park an hour earlier than the rest of the general population!!!

so we started out with the 2 rides that were open:

millenium force (that's the first drop)
and Mantis - a standup rollercoaster.

the real treat was

that ride was the new one and there wasn't a single time when we were waiting for the ride broke down. but it was worth the ~2hr wait. you get launched from 0-120 in 4 seconds (face being pulled back acceleration) and you go straight up for 420 feet and come straight down...and your ride is over
20 seconds of pure fun

it was a really fun weekend..and a decent distraction to my friend's problems (except for those waits in line )

but yeah..
drove back on saturday night and caught some saturday night 80's stations on the way back...

Welcome back.. I like coasters, but I HATE standing on line for 3 hours for a 3 minute ride.

When I was younger, I used to go to Cedar Point every year on Labor Day - not the weekend, but actually on Monday - and the place was always deserted. I rode one of the big coasters 13 times in a row without any waiting. Just got off & went right back up there.

You might give that a try if you hate the long lines.

I dunno, it sounds like superman....but faster....and I thought superman wasn't that fun, if you are ever in LA you hafta go to Magic Mountain, X and Scream are really fun
