i have a crappy computer at home, i do most all my computing and surfing at work on a t3 and a nice computer, so my question is, i think my girlfriend is killing our little computer with napster files, i havent gotten anything for her to save them on yet, so they all go to the hard drive. last night, i clicked on shut down (win98) and the computer went to the windows shutting down screen and just stayed there. do you think this is because she's taken up too much memory for some functions to work properly? or is this common because of another problem?

I have this problem too. Someone in another thread said that this is because the computer still detects a live network connection. I disabled the 'wake up on lan' in my BIOS and it still didn't shutdown. Maybe there's another setting in BIOS to fix that. I don't think it's because of MP3's because I only have about 100MB of MP3's and it still won't shut down.

chosen answered your questions well so I will give you advice on your gf. Have her save the files onto winamps myplay
they give you 3gb of space to store the files in then agian napster is going down so maybe u don't have to worry any more =P
