New Urban Folk Artist, Please Comment
Hi everyone-
Yeah it's been a while since I've played here...but I wanted to share a new artist that I'm managing for some general feedback and comments. I've made his entire demo available for now and would appreciate any sort of constructive feedback on him. I'm embarking on a semi-guerrilla marketing campaign for him in the coming weeks, targeting colleges, small venues in PA/VA/DC/MD and smaller record labels so any and all sharing of his music would be greatly appreciated. All I ask is that you share the following URLs, not the mp3s.
His genre could be defined generally as folk, but he has a more modern/urban feel. Definitely mellow, something you might hear in a coffeeshop. If the genre doesn't appeal to you, feel free to listen, but please respond with constructive criticism keeping in mind the targetted audience.
Thanks! Here are the links:

This is not my favorite kind of music but I am pretty eclectic so I can appreciate good folk. Not bad, I don't like strange very much. Seems kind of whiny compared to the music. The observations song is pretty bad. The voice over is painful. I could definitely listen to him at a coffee shop. There is a new one in College Park, MD. They have live music. I have not been there yet although it is getting a pretty good following so far. College Perk. He is much better when he sings and leaves the gimmicks out. Just my rather limited 2 cents.
