Thread: Please Help Me with my Printer!

Here's the deal: I replaced my ink cartridge in my Compaq IJ900 printer, and now when I try to print anything -- email, web pages, etc., it simply won't let me print. It indicates that my cartridge is low on ink and needs to be changed (even though I just changed it). I don't know what to do next. I've tried rebooting my computer and that hasn't helped. Any suggestions? Thanks.

-- remove cartridge and eyeball the inkjet carriage where the cartridge sits.
    -- anything look dirty
-- eyeball the pads on the printer cartridge to see if they are dirty.
-- if pads not dirty, eyeball again to see if the contact points are centered on the pads. If you see that any pin from the printer carriage has contacted the pad offcenter (you would see the gold area scratched or marked thru contact with the pin) with regard to where it normally would touch the pad, then it is up to you to determine if it is abberrant enuf to be a problem.

-- You did not describe why you removed the cartridge in the first place. A problem?

-- You did not describe if the replaced cartridge was the same cartridge or a new one.

-- You did not indicate whether or not you had attempted to refill ink into it.<small><font color=white>
