An ecp port is a parallel port ChIcKeN_HaWk. Parallel ports are mainly used for printers. You need a parallel port cable to hook up your MP3 player.

you probably need to enable your parallel port to ecp/epp mode in your bios.

this is the reason there should be a warnign on the box saying: Idiots do not buy. either that or more detailed instructions. Sort of like on the Epson 740i pronter, you need ot manualy configure it to print to the usb port if you use the included usb cable to hook it up, and most people i know dont know how to do that.

I did enable ecp mode in the bios but it still won't communicate with the player. The player sees the program but it still won't download any songs. Any ideas?

i entered setup to enable the ecp mode(the windows printer manager desn't work properly ) then i got in W95, and start the program(name?), and when i drag the sample songs from the D: drive, after i turn it on, i was able to play the songs on the player. the part i haven't done is to hit the download button from the menu. so i need to do that to finish the whole process to make sure the last piece works.
