So I did the stupidest thing a couple of weeks ago. I was transferring a hard drive from my old computer into my new one, and I had not backed up the old hard drive since January(it held my My Documents folder). As I was putting the hard drive in the new computer, I didn't see that there was a screw jutting out of the middle of the bay that I was slipping it into(a serious Dell engineering flaw). The screw broke off a component on the controller board on the hard drive. I was like "****in **** ****** ****er!!!!!". Not because of the stupid dell manufacturing error, but because I told myself a bunch of times that I should have backed it up first but did it anyways.
At any rate, I found a company online that said they could replace individual components on the controller board instead of having to open it up and try and recover it that way. I sent it, and just got it back with all the data still on there. Total cost was $49!
Not so **********in' Suckage!![]()
