this is the 3rd time within this month that UPS has been sending packages to me late. i'm supposed to receive a package on the 25th... today is the 26th and now when i check the tracking it says "routed incorrectly...rerouting to destination"... so that means i'll be getting my package on tuesday. damnit i wish i could chose not to ship via UPS when purchasing stuff online. i'm sick and tired of this.

I always get UPS stuff before it is suppose to arrive. Oh well, I guess it is just where you live. The other nice thing for me is that I live in so cal and i can send packages via UPS Ground to anywhere in CA and if i do it in the morning it gets to the destination the same day...for cheaper than it cost to send it USPS (and in a hell of a lot shorter time)

i'm in santa cruz, CA... don't understand how the routed the package to sunnyvale, CA, 30 mins away from here. plus it isn't difficult either to just send the package overhere to santa cruz and deliver the damn package to me.

    Cool

When something like that has happened to me, I usually complain back to the sender. I had an order with Amazon get screwed up by UPS and Amazon refunded me the shipping.

UPS doesn't suck. a couple mistakes out of millions of shipments. woo. that's horrible. i know UPS drivers that will continue their run even past 10pm just to get everything on their truck out. it is probably just a computer problem they were having at your local hub.

UPS is usually pretty good. Maybe it's where you live. I use it to ship goods from my store and it seems ok...

weird how those "couple of mistakes" happen to me to %50 of the packages i receive from them.

my order was from amazon too... called them up and they said they'll refund my shipping charges... still waiting for it to appear on my a/c.

With UPS I frequently get my packages 1-2 days after they are supposed to arrive. The worst was when they lost a package that I did not insure properly -- I lost $150 on the thing (not to mention the hours of phone calls just to get the basic $100 refunded). In general, I would always use USPS over UPS. USPS is always faster and considerably more reliable (based on personal experience).

yup one time i sent a monitor to a buyer on ebay... payed them to ship it and even told them i want it insured. then i left the package at my college office... the driver came and picked it up...a week later, the receiver said that the monitor was damaged... so i called UPS up for the claim. it ended up being that the UPS guy didn't insure my package (when i actually wrote a check for it too)... and i received only a $100 refund. lost over $200 on something i don't believe i should take responsibility for.

Jeez, some guy in a freaky brown uniform knocks on your door at a late-ish hour and you guys open up? Hold on, I've got some home invaders I've gotta put a call into...
Isn't that sad that that's the first thing I think of when I hear of folks putting in an honest day's work? "They must be up to something." I guess that's what the world's comin' to...

sorry durrr but UPS must just not like you. =) I've never got a package late, damaged, lost, or neglected in any way. i even received a 21" monitor via ups ground delivery that came a day early. the last package i received from them i thought was going to be late, but the driver stayed out past his normal time by over an hour to get it to me that day. maybe the carriers in your area are just plain slack.

UPS is pretty good out here. In fact, last night, there was a knock on our door just after 9:00, and it was the UPS guy. He had a box for me. Wow! They almost never deliver after 6:00 here! I was impressed!

yeah, that's what i mean. i knew a guy last night who was out past 10pm. They'll do it. poeple come out in their pajamas saying "what? who are you?" seems kind of not right at first but sometimes people really need the packages and they appreciate it.

You think that UPS damages packages??? You should see the way USPS mauls packages. Most packages I get from them are all tore up and everything. And, I've never had a problem with UPS.

And you should see the UPS ppl at Christmas time! They put 2 ppl in a truck and are out delivering until 11pm, nonstop. I'm assuming they pay fairly good overtime

in my state (i don't know about others with unions and all) the top level of payment for drivers is like $22/hour. overtime is $33/hour....holiday pay and overtime....gah. it's a lot.

    Cool

Well... I have to say something on this subject. I work for UPS. I totally understand the frustrations I am seeing here. I order stuff all the time and have it delivered UPS -- on time and late. They don't know I work for them when they deliver stuff. I haven't had any big issues, but I hear them everyday from customers. I know that if you paid for a package to be insured and you have proof that you did, we refund the money. As for the packages arriving late, if it is a ground package to a residental address, there is no GDT. If it is a business address, the shipper of the package is due a refund which he can in return pass to the customer if he wants to. As to the numerous calls that has to be placed to get refunds, use your rights! If you are a shipper (have a UPS account) leave a msg for your AE through Customer service (800-pick-ups). If not, talk to a supervisor! I don't work with Customer service but I have helped customers who call me with very sticky situations. I hope this helps... don't kill me! *wink*

my UPS guy (notice i call him "mine") knows me by name and always says, "well, i'll see you tomorrow!!" - which is usually the case we make short talk and hang out for the 20 seconds he is on my doorstep. he's a cool dude! hehe. i did have a problem with a smashed box, so i called buy.com and got my shipping refunded. nothing inside was damaged, so it was not a BIG deal.

New York City UPS guys are a bunch of crooks. I ordered a $1,100 bike once and it arrived late in a busted up box, had a couple of scratches, and the front tire was slightly worn. I bet they took it for a joyride.

    Cool

I received some package via UPS a few day ago, it arrived right on time as it was displayed on their tracking web site. I'm in California, so I guess the guys over here are a bit better. But I had a friend who moved from LA to New York and the UPS guys there damaged his computer when he sent it there.
