Earthlink DSL...Anyone Else Getting The Runaround?

Been a member since Feb. Installation went fine, but service is horrible! Frequent disconnects, confusion on who the heck is responsible for connection issues (Covad or Bell Atlantic), etc. I'm about 4K ft. from the "CO" (I've learned lots of neat DSL terminology in the last four mos.!) and the threee Covad techs. that visited my house all told me I should be grabbing bandwidth of least 640K, if not higher. My average speed??? 170-260...not cool.

This is just a plain rant, I've given up and do not expect Earthlink, Bell Atlantic, Covad, whoever to do anything about it. Just wanted to share...and beware before making the jump to DSL. Chances are you're in for a long ride!

Which area are you in? I am thinking of getting the earthlink DSL in the NYC area.
