    Camping this weekend

This is gonna be fun. Going with the Girl Scouts.
Lots of girls, few adults. (and they are probably thinking the same thing without being sarcastic!)

Naw, it should be fun. But wish me luck! It's a bunch of troops going -- our troop has 22 girls so we are talking hundreds of girls!

see ya after a nap on Sunday

my sisters (who were girl scouts) were always jealous of the fun stuff i got to do as a boy scout. they got to make ear rings while i did actual camping and hiking.

that's one of the more colorful scouting experience i've heard of...

girl scouts was sooooo lame for me. i did it for about two years and got real damn sick of making thanksgiving decorations and selling freakin cookies for someone else to profit...

prm is an eagle scout. altogether now...

We had a good time. I am very tired. There was close to 800+ girls there all together. I will post pictures later of some of the stuff they did. We are planning a troop camping/canoe trip for March-ish and maybe a smaller camping trip before it gets too cold.

The Eagle scout thing is really cool. Audrey, as a Junior scout can earn the Bronze Award. This is something that takes about two years to earn -- starts with earning badges and doing community work.

She got really interested in the retirement ceremony of the US Flag. So her and another girl are going to organize a group of scouts for flag ceremonies and also a drive to collect the flags on base that are ready to be retired. This will be a good start for her on her way to the Silver and the Gold Awards. The Gold award is the GS version of the Eagle. Her goal is to get all three... we will see.
