Well this really sucks. Mobshop just jacked up their prices for their Diamond Rio PMP300. They are selling for $145.

AJ it was probably cheap looking. I never seen a real one. But the cool thing was it used to be cheap.

    Cool

Not really happy with Diamond at all. My RIO300 gave in on me so I upgraded to the 500 series. The bass sucks on the entire series of the RIO. I highly recommend something else. I hear from a buddy of mine the NOMAD can hold it's own.

word. i don't like mine either, although i've never dropped it. despite having no moving parts and not sposing to skip, mine does in a way. instead of skipping when you hit a bump, it just turns off. the battery compartment is not so hot. ah well, what can i expect for $25...half off 150 valueamerica, then $50 rebate.
value dollars...now those were the days.
i formatted a smartmedia card for the rio, but the whole turning off instead of skipping thing is starting to really bother me. anyone know how to unformat smartmedia cards? i tried with my olymp dig cam, but it can't.

    Question

am I the only one who actually likes his Rio 300 ?

mine's been working pretty well.. the parallel cable isn't all that slow, and for the most part I have had no problems.. every once in a while i get half of a song missing or something, but I'm sure it's something I'm doing in my machine while copying songs to it..

other than that, it's been great, and i would recommend it.. take it for what it's worth..

    peace,

I have the Rio 500, and I think its just fine...However, I also have a Nomad II, and I think if I had 64mb for the Nomad II I would probably use that instead...but for now I just bring both of them along

in response to the whole 'turning off when bumped thing' iv found that a small piece of tin foil, between the end of the battery, and the compartment cover works pretty damned good.... other that that, iv had no probs with mine. i got mine used, w/ a 32 meg flash card for $150

I got my Rio Pmp 300 for $40 and used it for 3 months and then sold it for $50 best deal I ever got.

    P.S. Rio software blows
