About two weeks ago I was in Sin City for no other reason but to have a good time and keep my fiance company. She goes on business and I get free transportation, free hotel, and basically free food as well. The only thing that is not officially covered is my gambling money. Now we usually go to Vegas at least a few times each year for her work with me making a couple of extra trips with friends who want to go. Unfortunately, this last time because of my ankle I was unable to walk without the aid of either my crutches or my cane.
We were staying at the Trop because it was cheap, but ended up getting bumped up to a great suite that was on the corner of Tropicana and the Strip. The suite was two rooms, with a sofa, wet bar with seating , kitchen-esque table, two televisions, and a large bathroom. We were on a lower floor so we could see everyone on the bridge and look right down the strip itself. All for $50 a night! (The room normally is $200+ according to the woman who checked us out) Either way, I usually divide my days between the tables and just walking between the different casinos trying not to spend money. This time however, I couldnt walk. This meant I was basically stuck at the Trop or if I really pushed myself either the MGM, NYNY, or excalibur during the day. Not exactly what I like to do. All because I am a freaking gimp right now.
We are once again heading to Vegas this week. Although I am still a gimp, I hope that staying at a different casino will allow me to get around better. If not, there is always gambling, television and people watching.
