yeah its pretty bad. I was up in Camarillo over the weekend and my car was completely covered in ashes overnight. I thought it was only around ventura county though, but when i came down to irvine i saw it was just as bad down here. Its weird but i kinda like it. I like rain (clouds) and i like fires so its one strange combo. I feel bad for all the people losing their houses though.

BTW, what high school did you go to hang10?

Yeah the fires here in Socal are crazy. I've had many family members evaced.

Good thing us Orange County folks decided to spray the whole area down with fire retardant.

One of my co-workers and his family got evacuated from his apartment. He was closing escrow next week on a house that was in immediate danger. Apparently he and his family are all right and the fire was in his new neighborhood but only got within 2 houses of his new one. Luckily for him the wind shifted and the fire took another direction and will likely not come back.

Thanks to the fires our air quality has gone completely to hell. The smoke and particulate levels in the air were pretty bad yesterday - and I live close to the beach!
    I think over again
    My small adventures, my fears.
The small ones that seemed so big,
For all the vital things I had to get and to reach.

And yet there is only one great thing, the only thing:

To live to see the great day that dawns,
And the light that fills the world.

Fire is spreading in the valley. People in parts of Woodland Hills were asked to evacuate. The fire is about 4 miles away from my house. Fortunately, the wind is not blowing this direction so it's not moving quickly.

man today sucked. i was out working with my dad in camarillo, and the ash and smell weren't that bad, but they were noticable. then we went to thousand oaks, and it was stronger. ash in your eyes is not cool.
next we went to westlake, and it felt horrible. dry throat, dry nose, ash in the eyes. i kept visiting the water hose and washed up a few times, relief for a few minutes. the wind picked up and ash was everywhere. thats when the masks were put on.
    bleh, this sucks.

My cousin's friend lost their home Sunday. They lived in Scripps...saw some horrible pictures.... Luckily no one was hurt. But I can't say the same thing for the other 14 people who died.

Woodland Hills is fine, if not a bit ashy.
