Last month my mom bought a refurbished 17" HP monitor from Buy.com for $149. It quits after 33 days. On Monday she calls HP CS and they are really helpful (and patient - my mom is not very "computer literate".) On Friday the FedEx truck shows up with a refurbished 19" monitor, and a pre-paid label to return her broken one. She called HP to tell them they sent the wrong monitor, they said no problem, she should just keep it!

Heh, its still a refurb and keeping customers happy like that is how they still sell those crappy prefabs. Oh well, that's cool that your mom lucked out and got a 19" monitor.

I beg to differ. I lost my software disk for my scanner, and they have no driver support on the web. They want to charge me for another one. I've never bought anything that didn't have driver support on the web.

Wow. HP doesn't have your scanner's driver? No kidding.

I've never had a problem finding an HP driver on their site (even an old one). Keep looking!

Hum....that's weird. Have you tried like zdnet and some of drivers' web sites?

I know what your talking about StonedWheat. What scanner do you have? I'll burn the installation disk for you if you want. I have a 5200 series scanner. It works great and all, but the damned thing gets wacky every time you move it to a different location. (Meaning: Don't buy this particular scanner)

Thanks for the offer speedracer. This forum is really too nice. Unfortunately I have a 3300C. I know that disk is around here somewhere!! ::checks behind the couch::
